HMVCG is a volunteer led community group which has an interest in the protection and enhancement of the Heaton Mersey conservation area with a specific focus on Heaton Mersey Park and the Bowl and the surrounding historic features and assets.

Our privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When a visitor to the site submits a contact form they are asked to provide their name and email address; this is the minimum information required to enable us to provide a response.

Individuals are also asked to consent to us collecting, using and storing this information in the manner set out in this privacy policy.  This is submitted to the Akismet service and reCAPTCHA (Google) for the sole purpose of spam checking.

Contact form data is stored on our website database and the message emailed directly to us so we can provide a response.  This will include the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email address, website, and message.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

The contact form uses  reCAPTCHA (by Google) and the sharing party’s IP address will be shared with that service. You can find Google’s privacy policy here.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

How long we retain your data

We will keep your data as long as is required to respond effectively to your message and a further six months.

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you and also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
