Information for guests

Timings

Please bear in mind this is a live event and there are large numbers of performers and guests to move between concert venues and some elements of the afternoon are weather dependent. So, timings are subject to change! Each venue will provide a slightly different experience so we recommend you join each element to get the richest experience.

Safety

It’s going to be an exciting, uplifting ‘high octane event’, so don’t forget about traffic in the excitement when we are all on the move. There will be stewards in high viz jackets at all road crossings as we move between venues, so don’t forget they are there to help and protect you from traffic and cycles.

Weather

It is looking good in relation to weather – no rain predicted until after 6pm. But this may change. Wrap up for the walks between venues and the unveiling of the sculptures. Bring a torch, lantern or phone that has a torch if you can as we will be going into the park. There will be some illumination in the park but the torches are intended to create a festive atmosphere and help with safety too. Wear sensible shoes as there is a lot of wet tree mulch on the cobbles and some mud. If you are not familiar with Vale Close it’s on a cobbled slope.

Sustainability and car parking

HMVCG is a community group focused on helping nature. We encourage everyone to walk to the concert venues but we also appreciate this isn’t always possible for everyone. The Crown Pub carpark will be closed off but there is on street parking near the new Morrisons corner store on Didsbury Road and a public carpark. There is parking at St John’s church too at the side and behind the Heaton Pub. Vale Close has also got limited public parking beyond the houses. Please don’t inconvenience residents by parking in front of their houses.
