Scything with Cheshire Wildlife Trust

Sunday 22nd July we are back again working alongside Cheshire Wildlife Trust who are helping us scythe and rake the grassland at Mersey Vale Nature Park.

Please join us.  You don’t need scythng experience (training and scythes provided) and there are a variety of other jobs to do all under the expert guidance of Adam Linnet from CWT.

We will be working as usual from 10.30am to 1.00pm (the CWT will be on site until 3pm).  You can join us when you can (although if you are scything it would help if you arrive at 10.30 when there will be a group training session).  Any time you can spare will help make a difference and be much appreciatedTools, gloves & hi vis jackets are provided and  refreshments.  No experience needed but please note that if you are under 16 years you need to be accompanied by an adult. 

THINGS TO BRING: Drinking water. Weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Sun screen.   You may want to bring your own gloves.

TIME & PLACE: Meet up at 10.30am at the picnic bench on the right of the Sidings Orchard access path.  Nearest park entrance to this is Craig Road (opposite Ravenswood Avenue SK4 2BR). 

If you arrive later please look out for  volunteers.working on the top path which overlooks the pond.
